Visit to RSA in February

February 2003

In February, 2003 our Company organized the visit of experts from Almalykskiy mining and smelting enterprise to RSA. The reason for that was the opening of Charles Warman Training Center and presentation of the new CH WARMAN equipment — jet pumps. CH WARMAN is one of our business partners. Our South African colleagues organized for us a lot of useful and interesting visits. We managed to see over the factories producing ore mining and processing equipment, as well as the factories where this equipment is being used.

Let us proceed with the details of our visit:
  • 7th February. Opening of Charles Warman Training Center. The center was named after the CH WARMAN founder and owner who was 93 years old that day. Among the numerous guests there were chief executives of ore mining factories from all over the world where the CH WARMAN pumps have been already operating for years. Experts had a chance to discuss the details of pumps operation at different stages of technological process, under various environment conditions and with different types of ore. CH WARMAN constructors and engineers presented their forward-looking projects concerning pumping equipment and answered numerous questions.
  • 8th February. Visit to phosphorite mines in Rustenburg at Tailings Factory. We were explained the whole technological process and shown where the CH WARMAN pumps and MULTOTEC screens and linings were used. MULTOTEC is one of our business partners as well. Going to Pretoria.
  • 9th February. Visit to MULTOTEC premises. This Company is the second in the world in hydrocyclone production. It also produces various lining for ore mining equipment, sampling devices, impellers for ceramic, rubber and polyurethane pumps. We got extremely interested in lining materials made from both — rubber and ceramics / polyurethane and rubber / polyurethane and ceramics.
  • 11th February. Visit to ore concentrating mill and mines in Palabora. It should be noted that the enterprise is located on the territory of one of the world’s largest national parks — Kryuger Park. We were amazed at such peaceful neighbours, as huge dump trucks passing by and grazing elephants. In the factory we met across the following road signs — Watch out! Apes! or Attention! Rhinos! The contrast between modern technologies and wild nature is typical of South Africa.

We were impressed by modern technologies on the one side and careful attitude of inhabitants towards their nature on the other side.

South African landscapes that we managed to enjoy
